Eric Underwood

Eric Underwood, originally from Washington, D.C., discovered ballet relatively late in life, at age 13. Despite starting ballet later than most, Eric quickly excelled in the art form. He joined the American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem and later The Royal Ballet. Eric is known for breaking barriers in the ballet world as a Black dancer. He has been vocal about the lack of diversity in ballet and has advocated for greater representation of dancers of color in the industry. He has garnered acclaim for his performances in a wide range of ballets, showcasing his versatility and skill.In addition to his dancing career, Eric is also an actor, model, and public speaker. He has appeared in various films, television shows, and fashion campaigns, expanding his reach beyond the stage. Eric is a passionate advocate for the arts and has used his platform to promote diversity and inclusion in the industry. He has spoken at events and participated in initiatives aimed at creating more opportunities for underrepresented artists. Most recently Eric and his partner have taken on a working farm in the Chilterns and are looking forward to creating arts and outreach opportunities in the English countryside.
